What types of course materials can I import?
LaunchChat supports Notion pages (via OAuth), file uploads (Markdown, Word, TXT), and website crawling. Upload your syllabus, lecture notes, assignment rubrics, slides transcripts, and reading materials.
Can I create separate chatbots for different courses?
Yes. Create a knowledge base and widget for each course. Students in Biology 101 get answers from Biology 101 materials only. Each widget can have its own greeting, appearance, and confidence settings.
Will the AI make up answers not in my materials?
No. LaunchChat uses RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) which means the AI only answers from your indexed content. When confidence is low, it refuses to answer and suggests the student consult the instructor or course materials directly.
How do I handle course updates mid-semester?
If your materials are in Notion, changes sync automatically every 30 minutes. For uploaded files, re-upload the updated version and the knowledge base re-indexes. Students always get the latest information.
Does it work with learning management systems?
The web widget can be embedded on most LMS platforms that allow custom JavaScript — Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Google Classroom sites, and others. For restricted LMS platforms, you can share a direct link to the chatbot.
Can students ask questions in their native language?
Yes. LaunchChat auto-detects the student's language and responds in kind. A Spanish-speaking student can ask about your English-language syllabus and get the answer in Spanish, with cited sources from your original content.
